Who qualifies

SMUD customers in the Sacramento area. SMUD allows one rebate per household.

The offer covers standard installs up to 10 feet from your electrical panel. Charger spot farther away than that? We quote the longer run before we start, so there are no surprises.

What we install

  • A 40A circuit for a Level 2 charger
  • A plug-in outlet (NEMA 14-50) or a hardwired connection, your pick
  • The permit, pulled by us, and the inspection
  • The SMUD rebate paperwork, filed by us

Built to SMUD's rules

The rebate comes with a few rules and we follow every one: a 40A breaker at most, #8 copper wire at most, and the charger set to 32 amps.

SMUD sets the rebate and can change or end it at any time. We confirm it's still available when we quote, before any work starts.

What's not included

The charger itself, unless we quote it for you. Already have one, or still shopping? Tell us when you book and we'll plan the circuit around it.

SMUD EV Charger Offer FAQs

Who qualifies?
SMUD customers in the Sacramento area, one rebate per household. The offer covers standard installs up to 10 feet from your electrical panel.
What does the $495 cover?
The permit. We pull it and the work gets inspected. SMUD's Charge@Home rebate, up to $750, covers the 40A charger circuit itself, and we do that paperwork for you.
What if my panel is farther than 10 feet?
We quote the longer run before we start, so you see the price before any work happens.
Do I need my own charger?
The charger isn't included unless we quote it. Bring your own, plug-in or hardwired, or ask us to add one to your quote. Either way we set it to 32 amps, which SMUD requires.
How long does it take?
A standard install near the panel usually takes a few hours. The permit inspection gets scheduled after the work is done.
