Outlets, Switches & Wiring

Outlets, Switches & Wiring

From adding an outlet where you actually need one to rewiring an older home, we handle the wiring behind your walls safely and to code, so your home is both more convenient and more secure.

Call Now

Still living with two-prong outlets? Running extension cords across the room because there's nowhere to plug in? Most Sacramento-area homes have at least a few wiring issues worth fixing, whether it's missing GFCI protection in the kitchen, not enough receptacles in a bedroom, or aging wiring that's past its useful life. These things only get worse with time, and they're usually simpler to fix than people expect.

We add outlets and switches where you actually need them, run dedicated circuits for heavy loads like ranges and dryers, and bring GFCI and AFCI protection up to code. If your home has aging, ungrounded, or aluminum wiring, we handle partial or full rewiring too. Everything's done to current code and left clean.

What outlet, switch, and wiring services do we offer?

New outlets & switches

Add receptacles and switches where you need them, including USB outlets and exterior weatherproof outlets.

Dedicated circuits

Dedicated circuits for ranges, dryers, AC, workshops, and other heavy loads that need their own line.

GFCI & AFCI protection

Required protection for kitchens, baths, garages, and outdoor areas to prevent shock and electrical fires.

Whole-home rewiring

Full or partial rewiring for older homes with aging, ungrounded, or unsafe wiring.

Aluminum & old wiring

Safe remediation of aluminum branch wiring and other older wiring known to be a fire risk.

Outlet & switch repair

Replace scorched, loose, or failing outlets and switches before they become a hazard.

How do you know if you need wiring work?

  • You still have two-prong, ungrounded outlets
  • Kitchens or bathrooms lack GFCI protection
  • You rely on power strips and extension cords daily
  • Outlets are loose, warm, or no longer hold a plug
  • Your home has aluminum branch wiring
  • You are remodeling and need circuits moved or added

Outlets, Switches & Wiring FAQs

How do I know if my home needs rewiring?
Warning signs include two-prong ungrounded outlets, frequent breaker trips, warm outlets, and wiring that is decades old. We inspect and tell you whether targeted repairs or a larger rewire makes sense.
What is GFCI protection and do I need it?
A GFCI shuts off power instantly if it detects a ground fault, preventing shock. Current code requires it in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and outdoor areas. We add it where it is missing.
Is aluminum wiring dangerous?
Aluminum branch wiring, common in some 1960s and 1970s homes, can loosen and overheat at connections over time. We can remediate it safely using approved methods rather than leaving it as a risk.
Can you add an outlet without tearing up my walls?
In most cases, yes. We use careful fishing techniques to add outlets and run wiring with minimal access points, and we patch neatly where access is needed.
